So when applying for citizenship, is it going to matter to the interviewing officer if I lived in a couple homeless shelters? What if I have never received food stamps or been on public housing?

First of all i do hope your circumstances are much better, i'm sure it must not have been easy. 

 

I personally don't think that would be an issue at all. The only instance i can see it being brought up is in regards to your address for the past 5 years and that's only if you were homeless within those years and did not put anything on it. Even at that, the IO would/should understand (It would not count against you).

Oh, yes, my circumstance are much better indeed. Thank you. I have a job, had it for over a year. And I have an apartment.
