Hi fellow VJers,

So I checked the new site on Oct. 18th and it said my was was approved on Oct.17.  On Oct. 19th the old site updated to “Name Was Updated”.

This made me nervous so I called in to USCIS and they said it was approved and they mailed out the NOA2 on Oct. 17.

I was fine with this until the new site also updated to “Name was updated” last night.

Now bother the old site and the new site show name was updated.  My lawyer did send a couple of changes after the original petition filing and I also did a tip Thant @Greenbaum recommended which was to ask NVC to update the emails of the petitioner and beneficiary through their website...

Are we appoved or was it a mistake?

thanks your your help in advance

If UsCIS told you it was approved, it probably was.

Thank your for your response.  I’m just worried they made a mistake with the approval notification because I find it hard to believe the websites and tier 1 operators.

The "name was updated" is used for a couple of purposes. Others have experience the same and usually they experience their case record is approved the next day. It's really just some housekeeping that they are doing to your file. Nothing to be concerned about.
