Birth certificate translation - 10+ years old?

Hi all!

 

We will be starting our CR-1 journey early next year, but I'm just doing some preliminary research.

 

My partner is from New Zealand and emigrated from Russia when he was a teenager. He had his birth certificate translated in English (certified) when he came over to New Zealand, but the translation is dated 2005.

 

My potentially silly question is: Is this certified translation still valid? Will he need to get it retranslated? My gut answer is no (it's not like his birth has changed in the last 13 years), but I just thought I'd ask you guys to see if anyone has any similar experiences.

No need but that BC won't be needed until the NVC stage of the process.

@pushbrk Thank you! Good to know. And yep, we know it's not until much later, but I'm putting together checklists and timelines ahead of time so that we can prepare for possible contingencies and request documents in a timely manner.
