Steps after "ready" Status K1 Visa

Just checking in on the steps after the "ready" status is shown on the case tracker for the K1 Visa. My fiance has booked his medical and visa interview already... does anyone know how long it takes for the embassy to send the "appointment letter" needed for the medical?

I know all needed documentation is posted on the embassy and knightsbridge pages, but does anyone have any tips and tricks for us? His interview is scheduled for the 14th of Nov, and his medical is this Friday but I think we may need to reschedule in order to wait for the appointment letter to arrive.

Thanks all, we're so excited for "Phase 1" to be over!

Hey,

Did you get an email from the NVC that the case has been sent to the London embassy? You can take that.

Some people have reported that the embassy never sent them a letter.. I did get one, but it wasn't until after 2/3 that the case had arrived at the embassy.

Some people have reported that you can show Knightsbridge just the CEAC page where it says ready, but I didn't do that so don't quote me on it.

Yeah we got the email from the NVC about two weeks ago. Last Wednesday when I checked the case tracker it went from "In transit" to "ready" so I assume it has been received by the embassy. Did you take the NVC email or was your appointment far enough out that the letter came in time?

Thanks!

My appointment was far out enough. I booked it in the middle of September for today. I received the letter from the embassy a week ago, so I took that with me, but I’m pretty sure other people from this forum took the NVC email letter with them and it was still okay. They just need it to verify your case number :)

A K1 does not get an appoiment letter from the embassy in London.

You can show the medical folks--

  • The notice from NVC (to petitioner)  stating your LND case number in writing.
  • The instruction letter from London (to beneficiary) telling you they got your approved petition and you can apply for the visa. It has the LND number in writing and tells you to find instructions on their website, which you have done.
  • A print out of your status on CEAC showing your LND number in writing.

All of those have worked for other folks on here. Knightsbridge just wants to confirm the number from an official source rather than what you told them over the phone.
