I-864 Envelope

Hi!

I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but I just couldn't find anything in the forum that has this topic.

My husband received the I-864 package and is concerned that the documents he is submitting will not fit in the envelope they provided. He is wondering if he can use another envelope.

He also noticed that the letters "APPT" were stamped on the left side of the return envelope and wants to know if this means anything important.

02/25/2006 Petitioner receives AOS Bill in U.S. (Day 161)

08/14/2006 Picked up visa and crossed the border.

08/25/2006 SS card arrives in the mail

09/07/2006 GC arrives in the mail.

04/24/2006 NVC forwards the application to the consulate in Montreal

I sent all I-864 papers last week to NVC in the same envelope you got without any problem. I am sure your husband can also use the same envelope as well (It has enough space) :yes:

However you can use other envelope if the current one will not fulfill your requirements.

It is not mandatory to use the envelope that they provided. You can use another envelope. Regardless, it is a good idea to mail them with delivery confirmation and/or return receipt so that you can check the status of your mail.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

I did not use the envelope they provided. Instead, I used the one that the post office provides for express mails. They received it on time & no problem
