TB positive Father, IGRA negative children

Hey everyone,

So I just had the worst day of my life yesterday after finding out that I had tested positive for TB on the 2 month sputum culture test(all AFB tests were negative). Suffice to say I will go thru the 6-month treatment regimen starting today.

My kids have tested negative in the IGRA test and had their immunizations done a month ago, my spouse is already in the US. Would any of you guys know what the process is at this point? Will the kids have to do a repeat pulmonary evaluation? Just wondering if any of you had to go thru a similar exprience.

Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

That is bad and good news regarding the TB.  Bad that you are delayed.  Good that the TB was found and you will be cured.  TB kills and is contagious.  Blessings arrive in many forms.

If the kids are going to wait to complete the visa process until you are done with DOT (Direct Observation Therapy .. continual trips to SLEC to receive meds), then yes you all will have to complete your medicals once more.
