Dear Members,,

We registered ourselves on the USCIS website and we received a message which says our case had been sent to the Department of State for visa processing. Does anyone know what this means please?  We did received our NOA 1 but after that this is what ( message) we got.

Thank you so much all

Filed: IR-1/CR-1 Visa Country: Ecuador
Timeline

That is the NOA2

your case has gone to NVC

you need to know the proceures for a case by looking at USCIS .gov

or above under guides

you should also do a timeline here letting us know the country,  the type of case so the VJ community can assist

without knowing those things, no one can really answer specific questions

hello thank you for your reply,

i am not sure if that is  the NOA 2 because i read on line that NOA2 is usually a receipt of approval which is sent to us...so was not sure.  I am from Malaysia by the way, applied and got my NOA1 in march 2018.   We registred ourselves in the USCIS website and we got a notification today this is what it says (  WE SENT YOUR CASE ...... TO THE DEPARTMENT OF STATE FOR VISA PROCESSING. YOU CAN FIND GENERAL INFORMATION ON CONSULAR PROCESSING BY VISING THE WEBSITE ........)   so do i still wait for a NOA2 receipt ? what's next

I think you didn't track your case before in USCIS website because it stayed as approved for weeks than they send your file to Nvc. Normally Nvc will receive your file within week. Than it will take upto 8 weeks to assign your case number. You need to call Nvc and ask them when they received your file from USCIS. Also you can call USCIS first to make sure you already approved. Normally it takes 2 weeks to get Noa2 letter.
