N652 - decision cannot be yet made

Hi all,

On 09/19, I had the N400 interview  (3 year marriage) and I attended it with my wife and my attorney and passed the English/civics test but the officer said he couldn't approve because the system shows two identities and he has to reach out to the HQ to get it fixed. He said during biometrics they made a mistake with my name which created a second identity. My name is in the format "AAA BBB CCC DDD" , two first names and two last names. He said during biometrics they messed up by breaking the first name and adding the second part as a middle name. He said I should hear back end of September or early October.  My status still shows as "scheduled for interview".

My attorney said all we can do is wait and they have 120 days to make a decision. Anybody has similar experience or any thoughts, please share.  Thanks.

I guess you have to wait until they solve the mess they did. Probably they will fix it before the 120 days. Did they let your spouse go inside the room with you for the N400 interview? Usually the spouse needs to wait in the waiting room.

She sat next to me during the interview and the attorney sat behind us. The officer did not ask her anything, it was a very quick interview. I signed couple of signatures in the Ipad and he was polite and explained about the name mismatch.

They did not let my husband go inside with me and they usually don't. At least he acknowledged it was their mistake. I'm sure they will solve it somehow. Not the first time it happens I'm sure. As soon as it's fixed they will schedule your oath ceremony.
