We have an appointment to submit the AOS docs on 5/22 (Albuquerque USCIS requires docs submitted in person).

Why are you submitting them to the office in Albuquerque? Family based AOS (you fit in there cause you're K-1) are supposed to send the application to the Chicago Lockbox.

Am I missing something?

Yes you are missing something. We are under the jurisdiction of the in the El Paso District Area. Prior to June 21 we were required to file for AOS under DORA, in person at our local office here in Albuquerque. However, this has now been changed (as of June 21, 2007) and we can file by mail to Chicago OR in person.

Perhaps it is time you update your profile and timeline to avoid confusion with your situation in the future.

Just one last question for you, if you don't mind answering, is your appointment to submit your AOS application at the Albuquerque ACS (Application Support Center) or the Albuquerque Field Office (local office)?

I think the ASC only does biometrics and such. Applications are submitted at the Field Office, but this is now optional. Apparently this is now our choice.

What's wrong with my profile and timeline?
