Hmm...So much for gun contol.

at least this kid does not have an issue with mental illness

Not Yet :)

is there a compelling reason to believe he will develop such in the future?

a supposed to be mature member of his family applied for a gun permit for him at 10 MONTHS old, and you dont see problems down the line in the family?

not at all. can you be more specific about what problems you are expecting down the line?

charles LMAO

ok, well, at 1 baby gets first beer and becomes an alcoholic by the age of 4, by 5 baby is given first joint and by 6 realises it is not strong enough and moves to heroin or crack, by 7 hes so pumped up on drugs and alcohol that his granddad pisses him off so he takes the gun he was permitted for when he was 10 months old, shoots his family and then goes to school and shoots everyone who ever thru pudding at him at lunch.

hows that? :)

The baby has a gun permit at 10 months old applied for by a member of his family. thats the only thing worth looking at as wrong in this situation

charles, did you have a gun permit at 10 months old and you feel close to this story? :D

i think all of the above is a major leap in logic............and no, i did not. i'm just trying to understand the anti-gun bias.

I was playing with you, but if you want to get serious and technical, then ok.....

Im antigun when someone uses their child to get a gun permit. cmon think of it, he didnt get the baby a gun permit for the baby, for god sakes theres a reason he couldnt get one so used his kid to get one . I dont buy the "was just seeing if i can get one or not" in logic no one applys for a gun permit by using their BABY just bc they were bored and there was nothing on tv.

And lets not forget the crappy system that clearly saw the pic of the baby on the app and STILL issued the permit

But Illinois State Police, who oversee the application process, said that they had followed the law in this case. "

i'm not too sure about your first point "theres a reason he couldnt get one" as his name is out in the media now, and he's unabashed about it. if he could not get one then it would be "shooting himself in the foot" so to speak in that his name is out there for anyone to check on.

so if it's not a violation of the law, what are we complaining about again?

In my opinion the application should have been returned and instructions to resubmit when the applicant was able to submit for himself.

it could well be that he obtained a gun permit for the kid so if something happened to him (the father) the kid would retain ownership of the gun. maybe he does not trust his wife to keep the gun for the kid, you know?

In my opinion the application should have been returned and instructions to resubmit when the applicant was able to submit for himself.

and why is that? apparently there is no age restriction on such?

furthermore, if we extend that logic to everything, should kids not be able to obtain a passport until they can submit the papers too?

possibly. and we can assume all day...unless we go meet the family and ask why the heck did he do it, we will never know....maybe he was bored and there WAS nothing on tv. who knows.

Come on people. If you care to look at the FOID application you will see that any applicant under 21 must have a parent or guardians signature. There is no age limit for application. All a FOID card is for is to enable you to own a gun. I had one when I was young. I started hunting at age 8 with my dad. This is not anything abnormal.

Here is the link to the FOID application.

I dont think its abnormal, and I do not think that having a gun at 8 years old if supervised by a parent or adult is wrong, but come on 10 months old!!!!

Charles are you in Illinois by any chance with said gun sticking up your A$$ cos you certainly are extremely supportive of a 10 month old baby being allowed to own a gun ;)

i dont remember stating he broke any laws or needed to be bounced into any animal court.

I was just making a statement that i didnt think it was normal or mature of a parent to apply for a gun for their 10 MONTH old baby. excuse me for not agreeing with everyone else on this matter.
