I don't think you should freak out... just don't forget to mention it on the interview. Thay way they can compare your name to your identification and fix it... it would be a big setback if it was misspelled on ALL the forms (since the begining of the case), but not if it's just on the DS-156.

Rio,

There is not much you can do - assuming you spelled it correctly on other forms - you can point it out at the interview.

Couple of unrelated tips though:

  • At the interview - try not to refer to him as 'hubby'.
  • Please Add/Update your time-line (this will help others too)

We wish you well...try not to worry...

On my I-129F petition, there was an incorrect date for two of my fiance's children (twins!).

We didn't realize it until it was all at the embassy and we were about to send in the DS-230. We put the correct information on the DS-230, and emailed the embassy with all our case information and asked them to note the correction. They took care of it with no problem. I was freaking out about it too...but it was pretty unnecessary.

Information about dependents is usually non critical, so that can be updated easily. Information about the applicant/beneficiary is normally more critical, and I agree you should bring it up in the interview, and try to refain from refering to your significant other as hubby (when talking to the consulate) if you are filing K-1, as that may cause them to suspect you are already married.
