Looking for advice.  I posted in June and July 2017 threads but figured I'd also post here to reach a larger audience and perhaps more senior members.

Yesterday I received mail from USCIS.  It was a relatively thick letter.  Once opened I realized what it was.....it contained:

a) was my new extension letter (that is redundant now as I got the stamp in July) but....addressed in my name, city and zip code.  NO STREET ADDRESS/PO BOX

b) the original mailing envelope which obviously  arrived somewhere and looks like USPS attached a computer print out sticker (coded) and labelled Return to Sender **Insufficent Address.  USCIS opened it rather neatly, unfolded it and attached it to my new 2 page I797 NOA form

c) USCIS letter re: change of address letter and

d) Change of address form  AR-11

Clearly whoever received the return to sender mail did not catch the misprint on the mailing address (which left out the street address and PO Box) and sent me the change of address form.  I DID NOT MOVE NOR CHANGE ADDRESS.  From what I can tell the new extension letter was dated August 18, USCIS received the returned envelope on Sept 4 and resent it Sept 7.

This improperly labelled letter scares me.  I am questioning their system and I am unsure what to do next.

NOTE:  All prior correspondence from USCIS has arrived safely to our PO Box.  I have never been questioned on using a PO BOX before. We have listed our physical address on all applications but indicated preference as PO BOX.

My questions:

1.  Do I send USCIS the form back completing it with the same info?  ***note: the form states No PO Boxes

2.  Do I ignore it this form?

3.  Do I call them to inquire about what to do?

4.  Have they changed protocols and no longer accept PO Boxes?

I would call and ask them to recite back to you the address they have on file for you. If it's the incorrect address (i.e. No street number and street name, or no PO Box), then that would be your cue to do the address change form or maybe they can correct it over the phone if you speak to Tier 2 and explain the situation. It is weird that this has happened. Perhaps someone deleted something they shouldn't have?

Forgot to close the brackets

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

I knew you would reply 😁 So thanks!!!  I was thinking about messaging you. 😉

I called early this morning and Ryan said it was strange, he could not assist me and would need to transfer me to a supervisor.....and that's where the call got dropped....like 27 minutes into the call.  Argh!  I am on the phone again, hopefully not getting the run around or a 2nd dropped call.  Some interesting things happening with databases at USCIS!!!

On another note....did your GC predicament get cleared up....that thread got too crazy for me?

It did, but only after I sent my senator after them. I feel like if I hadn't done that, I'd still be sitting here cardless. There's a couple of others who sent their cards back to CSC still waiting and their state politicians are all but ignoring them!

Good luck on your second call, let us know how it goes :)

Spoke with supervisor, no address on file!! Nothing!!!  Go figure!!!! 🤯

Sup could not explain why but he took both so who knows where mail will arrive (po box or physical address).  Guess USCIS just wants to keep me guessing.  He said this should not affect my application and processing and mentioned that I would be getting confirmation of our conversation (ie address change) in an email.

All this befuddles me....as they have my address(es)....I just got mail from them.
