Are you leaving Qatar for good? If so, I don’t think there expiration date. If you’re not gonna be back in Qatar after that, there’s no way you can can commit a crime there hence it shouldn’t have an expiration date even if it’s 20 years old.

 I have my Chinese police clearance and I wasn’t i China after that so it should be still valid

Police certificates expire after one year, unless the certificate was issued from your country of previous residence and you have not returned there since the police certificate was issued.

@Greenbaum i have a question in my Police Clearance. It was issued last April 21,2018. They said it is only valid for 6mos. But how come it is one year? Is that according to US embassy? Thanks in advance.

Again, check with your Embassy but here is the general rule as outlined by DOS. It references NVC but the information they are using is for an immigrant visa and not the non-immigrant but both are true.

ImportantPolice certificates expire after one year, unless the certificate was issued from your country of previous residence and you have not returned there since the police certificate was issued. If at the time of your interview the following three items are all true, you must bring a new police certificate to your visa interview:

  • You are more than 16 years old;
  • The police certificate submitted to NVC was obtained more than one year ago; and
  • You still live in the country that issued the certificate.

For country-specific guidelines on how to obtain a police certificate, review the Country Documents section at Reciprocity by Country.

Unobtainable police certificates

If your police certificate is unavailable per the country-specific guidelines above, you do not need to submit one to the NVC. If you cannot obtain a police certificate for another reason, please submit a written explanation when you submit your other documents.

I have to agree with StacyT ... if you have not been back in Qatar then the police clearance should still be valid for embassy purposes.
