Hello!

 

My fiance and I got our NOA2 at the beginning of August, and have been calling NVC daily since then to get our case number. We finally got it today! What now? Can we go ahead and schedule the medical exam or even the interview— and if so, how do we do that? Or do we have to wait to get a packet with instructions in the mail? How long does that usually take, and who gets it— the petitioner or beneficiary? There seems to be a lot of conflicting information out there and we want to do it right, but at the same time we're really antsy to get our interview scheduled so we can plan our wedding better. 😅 Thanks!

 

We'll be going to the Sydney embassy by the way.

Your best bet is to look through prior subforum for Australia here in VJ, wait for an answer or the embassy in Sydney would have more info

10/21/2018                Card was mailed to me, and yes it said so on a Sunday night, while Vj-ing

10/22/2018                Card was picked up by the USPS

10/24/2018                EAD in hand. F%^&& finally

12/28/2018                Interview has been scheduled. Waiting for notification with date by snail mail

it will say "ready" at the CEAC website...i just put it to be somehow less confusing to people that are not aware of the process. Guess i was wrong lol

 

consulate ready means: the file got from NVC to the embassy and they are ready to setup interview

The interview will be scheduled by the consulate once the visa application is completed at the NVC and the appointment time and details will be emailed to the beneficiary (provided they have your email address). Don't book your medial exam until you have your visa appointment as the medical is only valid for either 3 or 6 months and it will affect the expiry date of your visa (the visa is only valid for a maximum of 6 months i.e. once you get your visa you'll have 6 months to enter the US.
