Adjustment of Status/Request for Evidence Rejected. Legitimate or Delievered to Wrong Address?

Please help!

 

My wife and I got married July 25th, 2017 and sent our adjustment of status in August and it was received by USCIS the same month. We received a request for additional information in September and they received the requested information in October 2017.

 

We did not hear anything until May 2018 saying that we were ready for a green card interview. We had our interview June 22 2018 and everything went well aside from telling us that we needed to have a new medical due to one we originally submitted having expired during the time we were waiting to have a green card interview.

 

The assigned immigration officer told us then that all we needed was a new medical and she would get her case closed/approved. We received a second request for more information a few days after our interview. Since my wife is starting a new job next month and also needs to go back to school to work on her license (she's a teacher and can get American license while working), we rushed to get the medicals (one for USCIS and one for her job) out-of-the-way and did so on the 3rd of this month. We mailed the medical and Request for more information letter that Friday and insured it would deliver this past Monday, the 9th, which it did.

 

Today we received notice that our request for more evidence (the updated medical) was rejected, stating that they could not locate any records of us. However after calming down from panicking a little and sending my parents (one who's a lawyer) a picture of the rejection letter, my mom said it probably got sent to the wrong place, even though my wife and I were very careful when we mailed it. We sent it to the USCIS immigration office in our city to 80 Monroe, but we got envelope back instead from the immigration court at 167 Main. It honestly doesn't surprise me when I think about it knowing our local postal service. Would our information ever be sent from USCIS to the Immigration Court? I honestly have not heard anything about during this entire process. Or did our package just get delivered to the wrong location despite being clearly marked?

 

My wife thinks it was received wrong at the USCIS office by the receptionist there, but what do you all think? Please advise!"
