So me and my wife's interview for our adjustment of status is Monday! But as we put together all the paperwork we noticed that the certificate of marriage has her maiden name not the new one. All our paperwork we sent out had her new last name and I honestly didnt realize that it wasn't changed on the marriage certificate. Since we have to bring a copy of our adjustment of status and certificate of marriage to the interview is this going to mess everything up? The bills and credit card she's been added too all have her new last name also. It wasn't caught I guess when we sent out the adjustment of status application. What now?

Shouldn't be a problem My marriage certificate is in my maiden name too. Since marriage certificate is issued based on marriage license, so they will use maiden name in the marriage certificate. How about SSN? Did she have SSN in the married name?

marriage certificates usually have the maiden name because they are issued while ur still unmarried as a license to get married.

shouldnt be a problem as long as wife has passport with updated name and some other document like birth certificate with maiden name.

It's a normal situation. After marriage she could choose to stay with her maiden name or pick up your surname as she did, that's why in AOS form you state new legal name and put maiden as last used :)

Thank you everyone, eased our minds. We have the ssn application with the adjustment of status stuff I believe and it's all under her new last name. We waited too long to get one after we got married but the biometrics were all done using her updated last name.
