Need some advice.

My fiance and I are trying to get married. The problem we have is we both work overseas and want to return here after we get married. I filled for a K1 but have learned it was the wrong step. How should I go about fixing all this and accomplishing my goal?

Where is "here"...the US or overseas? If you don't plan to live in the US, then you can just marry anywhere. No especial is visa is necessary to marry within the US, although a K-1 does technically work for this purpose (it's just a long wait and lots of money if you don't plan on staying).

 

Assuming you want to stay in the US together...

Marry, file an I-130 for your then-wife, and include a letter to withdraw your I-129F in the packet (or send the withdrawal letter now if you aren't getting married in the immediate future).

OR

Wait out the K-1 and just marry in the US.

 

Depending on where you live abroad, you may be able to file the I-130 at a USCIS office abroad. This is significantly faster, but is only available with certain embassies/consulates. Which embassy/consulate are you going through?
