Visa after interview

Hello all , I have to travel to Johannesburg from Mauritius for the interview . My question is ..if the the interview goes well ..will I get the visa the same day as I wont be able to return to Mauritius without my passport . If anyone has experienced the same .. it will help me plan out my options thank you.

I have not personally done it yet but will be soon.   If you read the reviews about the consulate here on visa journey, it appears they do not immediately give it back.   I did read one case of someone coming from Namibia being told they could come and retrieve it the next day at the embassy, however, the normal procedure is that if you are local they mail it to you with DHL and if you are not (you are just in Jozy for interview and coming from Mozambique, Mauritius, Namibia etc. , you go and pick it up at the local DHL office.   It seems like on average people say it takes about 3 days, and helps to let the officer know your situation in hopes they do it quickly, but there is not guarantee and it could take the full 7.

 

Also please note you must arrive about a week early to complete the medical component.   There is only one single doctor approved to do the test in Jozy and it will take two visits and about 5 days.

Thank you much . We were prepared for the lead time to get the meds done and now will factor to get the visa done as well ..
