Approved K1 Petition  IN TRANSIT for over two weeks now to the US Consulate in Ghana.I would like to know what is best to do now?

What you can do now is to gather your evidence like chats logs, call logs, pictures, emails, cards, tax returns or tax transcripts and your wedding plans receipts. You will get a welcome email from the embassy when they receive your file and you will take it to Akai or holy trinity to do your medical exams.

But I have also read the US Consulate never contacts you until you go there with your NVC letter or push the Embassy with phone calls and emails.How true is this?

You can try that too, with US embassy in Ghana sometimes you have to put pressure on them.

When we did the K1 I contacted them first then few weeks later they contacted my fiance who is now my husband to come for the welcome letter.

I’m in the same boat as you. My K1 was sent two weeks ago on the 26th of June. I am also trying to gather the information while we wait. From what I’ve heard, the embassy can take up to 2 or 3 months to contact us.

No, I haven’t heard from the embassy but they updated my case yesterday from in transit to ready. All we can do after this is wait to be contacted by the embassy. I hope this helps.

Case is READY at the US CONSULATE GH and am going there with my letter hopefully on Monday.

Ahhhhhh Ghana embassy two years later and still on some crazy BS . Read all the stories so you guys are ready for the interview and ask us oldies questions. please no need for unnecessary denials . Well I’m here again because I am helping friends.  I’m like an unpaid immigration lawyer these days but I have two cases now at the embassy but we have not been contacted . I know how to hassle them but wondering do we need to hassle them for the welcome letter/ Call-in letter/ packet3 or will they send it eventually and does anybody know how they send it. Is it by email to the petitioner . Also we went ahead for on of the the cases and paid the fee , filled out the ds160, and signed up on ustraveldocsgh to get an appointment but no appointment dates are available. If we got an allotment date we would go do the medical and get the police report and the minor other things . Someone who know help !!
