If a couple lives apart, which field office does the case go to?

Can I change the office once assigned?

Can I change mailing address of petitioner and beneficiary to the desired location (closer from one or the other)?

The filer of AOS is the beneficiary, and i believe the mail goes to that address and the field office is assigned based on it, too. If you change the mailing address, it makes sense they would re-assign the office, but it may be best to call and ask them.

You can't change the office. I believe changing address at this point won't change the office. 

 

I hope you realize living apart will be questioned a lot during your interview.
