Applied in Feb, interview next Monday (14th), should I bring 2017 Tax Return? Any other docs I should bring originals of (other than what's listed in appt letter).

I've applied for a transcript from the IRS but concerned it won't arrive on time - should I call them and get a copy faxed?

 

Obviously I bring my GC, passport, marriage cert, wife's birth cert - but do I need to bring anything else? The letter says 'If copies of a document were submitted as evidence with your N400 application, the originals of those documents should be brought to the interview." - what kind of thing are they thinking of here? Should I bring house deed, wife's driving licence etc?

There is also an option on the IRS website to immediately download PDFs of the transcripts and print them, if the 2017 transcript is available on their site already.

 

Sometimes the IO looks at the tax transcripts, sometimes they don't---all up to the IO's discretion.

When I went for my interview, I brought every piece of paper they could possibly ask for.  My thinking, was that I'd rather have something on me and they want to see it, rather than NOT have it and the IO requests it or RFE's me for it later on possibly delaying my case.

 

During my interview, the IO asked to see my foreign birth certificate and made a copy to be added to my file.  My birth certificate was not one of the required documents anywhere in my application process or listed in my interview letter.  I was just lucky I had it on me to give it to her.

I signed up for this but they couldn't verify me so they're mailing me an activation code. Just not sure when this will arrive.

I had that same issue as well when trying to download the PDFs.  I realized then, that the info they are asking for in the "verification" part was the USC spouse's info...I entered in my husband's SS#, etc. and I was able to access the transcripts online and print them.  I suggest trying that.

No longer an option from what I can tell - when I sign in it just says "you have requested a code, it will be sent out".

 

Or should I go through the sign up process again?

Worth a shot----ya never know!

 

I did also request the paper mailings....took less than a week to arrive, just FYI.

It worked! I remember now the issue before was that our phones are in my wife's name so it couldn't verify my name against my number. I signed up with all my wife's info and I'm right in.
