Last Friday a call to DOS got me the information that Tim was "now eligible" for an interview date - meaning they had FINALLY entered in his p3 forms/checklist. I figured that today might be the day for big news. It was. We have a date.

August 21.

Really glad they've finally given you (well, Tim) an interview date, Daisy... but sucky that it's a late-August one when you were hoping for July - I can understand why you're feeling kind of 'happy-sad' about it. Still.... once all the waiting is over, you nevereverevereverever have to be apart again - so in that context, August 21st isn't too bad. (And yeah, yeah, I know you know that, and it won't make the impending wait seem shorter, but...). Anyway: congrats! :)

(edited... oh yeah - congrats to everyone else who's got their dates - may the interviews be super-smooth and hassle-free!)

I definitely understand where you're coming from, Daisy. I think all of us want to use any/every tool available to make this progress as quick and easy as possible. Hey - that's why most of us hang around on VJ so much, right? So - I'm glad for you that at least you know now, and I'm sorry it's so far away.

We sent off P3 today. No, we haven't rec'd it yet. After reading several posts on the "to send early or not to send early" debate, we made a decision on what we thought would work best. Don't really know of anyone that's done it before, but after asking the lady on the extortion line - we were convinced it was what we wanted to do. She said "of course, go ahead and sent it - it should save you quite a bit of time." We'll see how it goes, huh?

Next week I will return to my normal schedule of calling DOS to see if we have an interview date yet.

Can people reporting new interview dates also mention what information they provided for "travel" and "wedding" dates on the form? Just curious if we can guess (as much as we guess using any other data collected here) what effect that really has on scheduling.

Hey! Congratulations on your date. Why do I sort of feel guilty that we sent them on the same day?

Anyway, I put my real date for the wedding on my checklist and I also put a polite letter saying what a dumbasss I was for booking the wedding (copyright VisaJourney) and could they possibly possibly give me an early July date. I sincerely believe this helped, but it is really open to abuse if true. Hopefully people will only panic when necessary - but I would say that wouldnt I!?

Well done again.

ROb.
