ARRRGH!!!

this is a test, I know it! A test of our devotion to each other!

Well, I won't seriously nag until the end of next week (although the July 4th holiday in the middle of the week may slow things down further).

I can live without email responses, but not without an interview date!

Maybe they still read it and instead of replying, just scheduled a dang date. Who knows. Most people HAVE received a response - especially with the code. So maybe we're just the exception! I truly don't think it hurts to try - especially if sending the email makes you feel more calm for having done something, than not-sending it.

We sent an email Wednesday (27th) with the code. Had to change Dan's address. We already DID this at NVC, but apparently that doesn't count. Sigh. Anyways - no response to that yet. However, before I was aware of how the email works, I send an email to the - no code - asking if/when our case had been rec'd by the embassy. I thought I got the "deleted" response just because our case wasn't in their system, so I resent it every day for about 4 days. I got a response. I guess they figured they'd sent one so I'd quit resending the silly thing. It was short and sweet - we rec'd on 6/13. Will be mailing P3 to your fiance shortly.

And DOS is great. They don't answer any Embassy-specific questions (how long does it take them once they receive P3 to enter it in the system?), but they can update on any computer-entered changes to your case. Also, as Daisy said, they generally are quite friendly. I call about 8:30 EST in the mornings, and the wait isn't generally bad at all.

Well, after my nightmarish time in the system I think I have finally got everything cleared up!

I had a phone call from the consulate today to say they had received my dutch police certificate and all I have to do is courier them my passport for them to issue my visa, thank god it's over! For people that don't know, I turned up to my interview on the 11th to be told they would have to file for the dutch police certificate and then my application was on hold, with no idea when it would be completed.

Well, the courier comes on the 3rd so they should have it processing away by the 4th of July! I'm recovering from wisdom teeth surgery so I probably sounded crazy on the phone due to all the painkillers, but I'm so glad to have it finishing up.

Dawny is at work all day, and anticipating me calling the DoS in just a bit to find out the latest. I'm still baffled as to how you can be "looking for an interview date" for 4 days in a row now...how long does it really take?

And here we are, on business day #5, overall day #7, and we're still getting the "Eligible for an interview date, but one has not been assigned yet" mess. I'll be glad to fly on over, look at the calendar myself, find an open date, and make it happen!!

Frustrating it is to get this far, and wait on the simplest thing...

I called the DoS number just now -- the latest notation on the computer is the receipt of Packet 3 forms from my guy on June 4 -- no notation of receipt of checklist or anything since then.

The DoS operator said "Maybe they just haven't updated their computers yet" but it's been 12 days since they got the checklist.

If it hasn't changed by Thursday night, we're calling the extortion line.

So frustrating. Seems they're taking ages to do any sort of computer entry lately. Dan has called the extortion line several times already. He had to because of an address change that NVC said they were going to do, but didn't! From the three times he's spoken to them, they had the exact same information that DoS did. The only thing you can get from them is the access code for emailing the embassy to see what's up. Maybe that would be a good idea?

And Dawny & Tommy - that is ridiculous! I'm wondering if the terrorist activity has slowed the embassy - maybe heightened security wreaks havoc on things. Dunno???
