AOS interview successful, but waiting for FBI name check

hi,

i wanted to add myself to the list, but the font got all scrambled. perhaps one of you could add me/ i am also waiting for the name check to come through. i recently read that approx. 250,000 people are currently pending. so we are a big group...

anyway, i filed on 12/23/05, had my biometrics done on 2/9/06, my interview on 5/9/06 and i am still waiting. country is germany.

On July 31, 2006, a welcome notice was mailed for this case. If 30

days have passed and you have not received this notice. Please call the

National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283 during business

hours.

Had interview June 23, 2006 and was approved. Three weeks later no welcome letter no greencard in the mail. Had infopass July 14 and was told my case is pending FBI namecheck. I thought I'd have to wait forever but glad that it's over.

I don't usually let visa stuff get to me.

But I just did another check on USCIS.gov and our case message is still unchanged and the touch date is still 6/22.

I sat here and bawled. I'm just getting sick of it.

Checked my e-mail today, my husband has officially been approved and a welcome letter is in the mail! Interview date was May 9th.

Hope the approvals keep coming for those who are awaiting their background checks.

I am sorry you are having a tough go of it today Becca.

I can tell you what I was told. Since the file now *rests* with the local office, there is no consistency when it comes to updating the online profiles. Just as in my case, mine still shows "The interview scheduled in this case has been canceled. You will be notified if the interview is rescheduled."

The online tracker is not very comforting.

I can certaily say from my own experience, I the FBI check AFTER being reunited is FAR easier to swallow than the FBI check prior to K1 issurance!

Thanks Laura. You're a good friend. I know you are right about Del's AR when you were apart. I know that was awful for you. Stories like yours are why I try not to let this get me down.

I don't know what came over me. I just looked at it and burst into tears. I guess I'm just tired and felt like having a meltdown.

my interview date was also may 9th...maybe a good sign...

every day i open that mailbox expectantly...it's like waiting for santa claus, except he's very very late!

it's so incredible to read everyone's emotional comments. i can't believe we are being put through this process. i am just dismayed at how callous this system is, especially since it seems to punish those who want to do it the right way. my husband, a USC, is shocked now that he knows what goes on. he never had to deal with such interminable bureaucracy. he says it's like we're in a thirld world country. i say: it's probably worse, honestly.

We had planned a family vacation to Quebec with my parents, brother, etc... for August 12th, and at the beginning we really thought we'd be going, but now, those plans are pretty much shattered.

sorry to hear about your vacation. how come you don't have advance parole? was it just that you didn't think you would need it, because the card would arrive before august 12th? there is a way to get emergency advance parole, you know! you could make up some urgency...god knows, i would...that sucks about your trip...

also: what does it mean when you say your I-485 was touched? where can you see that and what does it actually mean for your petition? sorry for the question, but i've seen several people make that "touched" comment and i never know what to make of it...;-)

Hi everyone.....

Touched means some sort of activity on your "account" online. We havent been "touched" since the June 2005 original receipt date.

Been over 9 months since our "approved" interview pending FBI name check. I know the frustration and disbelief of this entire system.

I don't know how to do it but looks like "journeyhelper" isnt on the list; and they have been waiting for quite some time also (see page 17).

Our question is for the ones who have been waiting the longest.....

Since the fingerprints expire after 15 months....what do we do next? Do we call the "misinformation" line and just wait for them to contact us (suggestion from last infopass when renewing the EAD).

Don't know what I would do without this site and seeing how we can give more valuable info to each other in the meantime! Thanks everyone!!!
