Hello all,

My CEAC status finally said “ready” online (didn’t know you actually had to use your NVC # and select ‘immigrant’ but ok). I emailed the 3 documents Montreal requires you to send before scheduling an interview right away. My question is what am I waiting for next? Do I sit tight until they email me or send a letter with my interview time? Do I have to go somewhere to schedule my own interview? I don’t know what happens next. Thank you anyone who can help!

My case has been "Ready" since at least April 3rd.
I have not received Packet 3 yet.

I've sent Packet 3 twice anyways.

I've only received one reply to my first attempt:

"Dear Sir or Madam:

Please be advised that your fiancé (e) visa application is being processed in our office, and upon completion, we will contact you accordingly.

In the meantime, carefully note that you are not required to send your Packet 3 documents, and also not eligible to book an appointment online until you receive further instructions.

We hope this information is helpful to you and thank you for your understanding.

Regards,

My guess is that we are at their mercy and are forced to wait for them to send you Packet 3 first.
You won't be able to schedule your interview until you receive Packet 4.

So brutal. I’ve read not to bother waiting to receive packet 3 and just go ahead and send it when CEAC says ready. Here is hoping we get packet 4 soon!

I just got Packet 3. Three weeks since case has been ready at CEAC.

"Please allow six weeks for the review of your case, after you send the required documents.  Upon completion of the review, the U.S. Consulate General in Montreal will send you a Packet 4 letter with instructions on how to get the medical exam done in Canada and how to schedule your immigrant visa appointment. Do not get your medical exam in advance as it has a limited validity!"

Are you going to resend the documents for a third time or wait until you get packet 4?

I think I misunderstood your original post.

I thought you meant that you were waiting to receive Packet 3 but sent it in anyways.

Have you already received Packet 3 and sent it in, and now you are waiting for Packet 4?

No you got it right. I was waiting to receive it and sent the 3 documents by email anyways. This was on Monday (when my CEAC status said “ready” finally). Yesterday, I got an email from the Montreal consulate stating the review of my documents was complete and I was able to book the interview along with the website info to go and create an account and schedule the interview. I did that and my interview is on May. 25th. I’m shocked. I thought I would have to wait for all these various packets before being able to book an interview. It’s interesting because when my fiancé got our email from NVC they said our “request for expedition was approved” even though no such request was made (but awesome thanks). I don’t know if that’s sped up the process for me or what? I am the mother of a US citizen (baby with my fiancé) so maybe that’s why? Anyways look out for your email! All the best

From what I read on other topics, that phrasing is just a fancy way of saying, "we're emailing it to the embassy, not sending it via snail mail."

Wow, so you got P4 but no P3? Weird, but awesome! Hope it all goes well for you!

How long did it take them to send you your P3 I’m in the same situation I don’t know what to do!?
