k1 pending trying to get b2 visa

Hello all,

 

My fiancee is wanting to escort her mother to the us to visit some family members and while she is here she is wanting to visit me also. I have heard and read that it is possible to get a b2 visa while a k1 visa is being processed does anyone have any idea of how this goes and what type of paperwork we will need to fill and what she should take to the interview?

That might look really suspicious to U.S. officials. Why? Because she is already trying to get to the U.S. This looks like an option, not a legitimate reason to go to the U.S. (escorting someone is not a reason for a visa). She needs to stay in Vietnam and stick with the K-1. Anything else complicates the process.

That is what I have told her and that she should just wait for the k1 visa. But she has already filled out her DS 160 form for a non immigrant and is wanting to pay for the visa fee. Does it matter that she has already filled out her DS 160?
