Hi everyone,

A little history about myself:

I entered Canada in Sep, 2010 as a student, gained work permit upon graduation. The work permit ran out, so someone suggested me to make a refugee claim(LGBT related, I was bullied and threatened in high school) within Canada. So I did, but it was a no go for me, because the refugee board don't think I'd face persecution if I got back to my own country. I'm in Judicial Review process.

fast forward, 2016 I married to my husband, who is a US citizen. Filed i130 right away. The case is currently undergoing NVC. I'm wondering, what should I say when the Visa Officer asks what do i do in canada? Should I just dish out the whole refugee claim thing? Or I should say I'm a worker in Canada, as a server so and so forth. I'm a little concerned.

You tell the truth. Lies can cost you a green card. Since us and Canada share immigration history there is a good chance they know about your refugee claim already.
