My medical yesterday

Just wanted to post that my medical with Dr. Stuart yesterday went pretty well. I was there for 2.5 hours but most of the time spent was just waiting time. The actual procedures were really quite simple and painless, yes, including the genital exam, which per ErikaB's word really did only take 2 seconds. The worst part of the exam was probably having blood drawn, as I was feeling a tiny bit faint afterwards and my arm hurt, but other than that everything went fine and I'm happy it's over with!

Congrats!!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

That arm is fine now, but now my other arm where she gave me the Tetanus shot hurts although it didn't hurt at first

How long did it take you to get your results? Did you have to pick them up or did they mail them?

All my vaccinations were up to date, thankfully (for now anyway, I need my Tetanus update in December :( ).

They were ready for pick-up within 3 days (I went Monday afternoon, they were available Thursday). I live like 5-10 minutes on a direct bus route to Riverside, so I never even asked about the possibility of having them mailed.

All my vaccinations were up-to-date too, but I could not dig up the record for my Tetanus shot from 3-4 years ago since the clinic I obtained it at moved, so she gave it to me... guess I won't have to worry about updating it at least ;) I still don't get how your medical was less expensive than mine - I really did have to pay $320  ($310 + $10 for the shot)

And OH, where do you live? Send me a pm! Maybe we can get together sometime!! I live on a direct bus route to Riverside too.
