Japan - Original Birth Certificate

Timeline

Just to be clear I am the petitioner and US citizen. She needs my original US birth certificate? The reason I'm making sure is I'm getting mixed answers. I've heard she will not need my original, but I remember reading somewhere a while back she did. The documents required don't say anything about it.

@smokeface I had my fiance FEDex his original birth certificate to me for my interview. They looked through all my documentation so I am not sure if an original was necessary. We didn't want to take the risk of a delay just in case they needed the original. My advice is to just have it sent to your fiancee. Its better to be safe than sorry.
