Hey Guys,  please help with the confusion.

I got emails and updates on 9th May that files is moved to another office. Then on 10th May new office have jurisdiction over my case.

and  online update says they have sent a letter explaining why they moved but I haven’t received that letter.

Today I check status on automated phone line it is saying my file is moved to Laguna Niguel. Well this is the place I filed it. It could be moved moved from one floor to another.

but around May 14th I went for my infopass for getting I-551 stamp and IO told me after looking at notes that it has been moved to Nebraska.

I am really confused at this point where exactly file is. Initially I was happy learning that it moved to Nebraska. But after not getting any letter yet and automated system telling me it is in laguna Niguel it confuses again.

really fed up with this up and down emotional and bumpy ride. Please help if someone had similar experience or if May 9th update filers got their letter confirming case transferred.

Thanks in advance!

Hi, I read here situations exactly like yours so you definitely not alone and it’s indeed confusing. I also saw case approved at interview yet still “transferred to Laguna Nigel” after.. I would call and request to talk to Tier 2 officer to see location of your file. Other than that, i guess where is not much options but wait a physical letter in a mail or hopefully approval notice.

The location stated by the automated phone line won't change until the new office receives the file. You won't get a status update when that happens, it'll just happen. Call again in a week and check.

Hello everyone! Finally received green card on April 6th 2018 - YAY!

But on Friday we just received notice stating that USCIS has made a mistake with the "Resident Since" date on the card and they are recalling it. The green card has been flagged in their systems and USCIS wants us to return the green card and they will issue a corrected one within 15 days of receiving the incorrect card.

However, we're travelling internationally in two days! Any ideas what to do?  Anyone else get this incorrect date notice?

Congrats

You can go get a temporary I-551 Stamp in your passport. Try the walk in because appointments through USCIS are usually set to 15 days from the day you schedule it.

Good Luck

And my card arrived today. Good luck to everyone still waiting!

If your GC has incorrect "resident since" date then go to the local USCIS field office and you will get an emergency appointment. Bring your GC as well as your traveling documents as a proof. They will give you an I-551 stamp on your passport which serves the same purpose as a GC.

thanks @badouba18 and @Name O Boy

We went to the USCIS office and was able to get an I-551 stamp.  They originally tried to turn us away because they were at capacity but luckily they let us stay. It took forever but at least it's done.

I wonder what the next obstacle will be to get this 10-year GC as it seems like there is always something going wrong...

Hello everyone,

One quick question, Does anyone know how long it takes for the Nebraska office to process the I-751? I filed my I751 back in Feb 2017 and just received the Transfer notice saying my case has been transfer to NSC office on May 10th, 2018. I just worry if i have to wait till Feb 2019 or not.

I did receive the transfer notice in the mail. But i mean it doesn't help anything cuz it will pretty much saying your case has been transferred to Nebraska. That's it. No additional info.

I, on the other hand, didn't know about the transfer until i received the transfer notice in the mail. I checked my case status online, it didn't say anything. I have to check with the other Receipt number to see the transferring update.

I just wonder since NSC is a smaller office and usually don't process the I751, how long it will take them.

NSC is processing roughly in 4-6weeks as the pattern is.

For me I went in uscis office to get I-551 stamp, IO confirmed after looking at notes that it transferred to Nebraska. Then this saturday I tried automated line it said in Laguna Niguel office.

so yesterday I called Tier 2 IO said it has been transferred to Nebraska. I wanted to believe them, but will wait for letter to show up.

could you check automated line put I-751 file number, please let me know what it says if possible?

Thanks in advance!
