Hi, my fiance just completed her medical at St Lukes on Feb 2. I thought i would throw out a few observations that i had during the event. We stayed the night at a hotel in downtown Ermita. I have noticed lots of rumors printed and FB and such that there isn't a lot of accommodations near the medical center or consulate. This just isn't true. There are dozens of hotels depending on your price range of course. I recommend walking as for some unknown reason the tricycle drivers are all charging about triple what others in the manila and Philippines do.

Pay very close attention to the St Lukes web site, the one you pre register on line with. It has detailed instructions as to what you need to bring. I say this because we were in a line at the front door to get in and this is where the door guard checks your paperwork and photos. 2 out of 3 applicants in front of us were rejected to get their proper paperwork......

Last but not least, dont waste your sleep getting there before their opening time, 6:00 am unless you do of course have a burning reason for needing to be out of there by 10:30 instead of 11:30 or noon. There are lots of rumors on FB suggesting you get there very early, like 4:00 or earlier...... if you do you'll just be standing in line outside instead of having waited for a reasonable time and waited in a chair inside. I've included a pic of the enterance at about 9 am, so yes you can pretty much just stroll right in.

Time to complete first day.......... 4 hrs 15 min

Time to complete second day..... 3 hrs 30 min

According to the old timers that hang out there, the second day is usually more like 2 hours or so. We had complications of suspicious x rays but thank heavens no sputum test!! :)

This is why if you look up medical on here in the Philippines subforum we will tell you to come later and not earlier. We also have list for hotels close to the embassy and to St. Lukes.
