Hello Everyone,

I would appreciate any help I can get or where to find out this information as I'm having some confusion to what passport I need to use for the police clearance?

I have tried posting in the regional forum but no one has answered my post.

I am a Dual passport holder: Thai/British. I live permanently in Thailand but will be applying for the K-1 on my British passport.

Question is, do I submit my Thai or British Identity+Passport for the police clearance? (I do not stay here on any visa as I'm a Thai national).

Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

I am not a dual citizen, so this is just what I would think if it was me, and just answering in case you won't get anyone in the same condition answer...

I would use the passport I use to enter the country, because my records would be under that passport.

But another way to be sure can be asking the embassy. (I don't know if they reply but probably you can get some sort of answer.)

I think @MarksMate has dual citizenship and had to get both too, maybe he has some ideas.

They require a police criminal record check for countries you origin from (so I would get British and Thai one). And all countries you lived for at least 6 months after being 16 y old. Also from all places you got arrested if any. That’s what was written in my letter from the embassy.

Best option would be contacting us embassy that will process your case and interview of the info on their site doesn’t specify this topic well enough.

I hold dual citizenship of South Africa and New Zealand.

I am the beneficiary.

I had to get a police clearance for both South Africa (as I was older than 15 and lived there for more than a year) and used my South African passport to obtain this.  And my current country of residence New Zealand and used my New Zealand passport to obtain this.

I will be having my k1 put in my New Zealand passport.

Thank you for this reply,

I lived in the UK until I was 13, then emigrated to Thailand. I will make sure to e-mail the Embassy just in case.

Thank you very much!

If you were 13 when you left then you shouldn't need a police clearance for that country
