Hi, I'm filing an I-130 for my spouse and she has five names on all her documents in her home country, that is a first name and then four other names which follow, each representing her father grand father great grandfather etc. Can I choose to only put the first name and the very last name when filing the I-130 and leave the middle name box blank? For ex, her name is Maya Alex Bob John Anna Leigh, can I put Maya as first name and Leigh as last name and ditch all the other middle names? Also, her passport separates Leigh from Ann (ex: Leigh<<Anna<<John<<Bob<<Alex<<Maya) but the marriage certificate states the family name as Anna Leigh. I hope I didn't confuse you, but some guidance would be much appreciated and thank you very much.

If she has four middle names or three or two family names etc. as her current legal name or the name she will use once she officially changes her name on her passport, enter it as what it is or will be.  If it doesn't fit.  Hand write in instead.

Family Name: GARCIA RIOS

First Name:  Mary Catherine

Middle Name:  Joanne Jean

The above would be acceptable.  If some of those names are not current, put them in the other names used section.

If she is Now Mary Catherine JONES, then Joanne Jean would go as former middle names and GARCIA RIOS would go as former family names etc.
