Hi, sorry I’m a man with a 1,000 questions . When it comes to the NVC and the ds160 form. It says we need to bring photocopies of police certificates with us. I can copy the uk and France one but the Japan one is not allowed to be opened by myself and only the addressed embassy may open or etc so how does that work ? Any help?!

They say bring photocopies, but its been reported many times on here (refer to consulate reviews) that they only take the originals in London and copy them, so it’s nothing to worry about. They will also know about the rules for the Japan one. GL

Take the japan one the way they give you. Don't open it. You won't need photocopies they will just keep that.

I have noooo clue why Japan thinks the person should not see their own records. But my guess is because the systems in japan are soooo manual and still old school they scared people can actually play with these or something...
