Name change at the Jacksonville field office?

Will they do a name change at the Jacksonville field office? I know these things change from time to time but I wanted to hear back from someone who had experience with that field office in particular.

i am not with Jacksonville,FL. but in general, if you request name change on your N400 form, your request will be processed once interview is completed . on the oath day, you will meet with the local judge  along with other applicant to make this new legal name valid legally. and later will receive the certificate printed with your new legal name.

It may or may not be the same office at Jacksonville, depending on the Judge 's availability and actual schedule. you might end up going to another office for the oath, and also the waiting time for oath might be slightly  longer as the USCIS has to collect enough number of people with the same request ,and then assign a date for the oath according to the available judge.

My concern is that some people request a name change and it doesn't happen because certain offices don't provide that service. I want to hear back from someone with experience with the Jacksonville field office or who personally knows someone who went through it there.

usually we applicants have no way to choose which office to process. If you find out your office is not providing this service when you are interviewing, the officer will advise you what to proceed for the name change. Commonly, there are 3 ways to change legal name in the U.S. --marriage, court order and naturalization( it's free but it doesnt mean every office is providing that ).

Thank you for all your advise. Infopass might not be so useful for me since I'd have to take off work and drive 3 hours there. If it comes down to that then I'll do it but for now I'm hoping to hear back from someone with experience in the Jacksonville field office. The point of this questions is to get a better idea before I'm already at the interviewing step. So someone with experience at the Jacksonville office would be helpful.

OP, you've received valid advice in this thread.  Even if someone with experience at Jacksonville responds, the policies and procedures might have changed since then.  If you're fortunate and someone with very recent experience responds, great; if not, the previous posts apply.

That's understood, of course. I'm still hoping someone with experience at Jacksonville responds!
