Greer, SC... but there's nothing to envy really.. We applied for his AOS back in September of 2016... It seems like the office is really back tracked since we only had interview on 01/29/2018.. BTW.. I saw on a different website this guy with a similar situations as ours.. he had his interview back in January, and they gave him a RFE for the 601 since he was found inadmissible for misrep/fraud... he send his waiver in the first week of April and only 3 weeks later he got his approval and then last week his AOS was also approved! I did message him this morning to ask him if he sent it directly to the office or to the processing center

I know another guy in Florida, who was given the opportunity to file a waiver and it was approved after 10 months. Then on the 10th month they send him an RFE to resubmit his medical and then within 3 weeks approved his 485 and send him his card. For me it has already been 10 months for my 601 waiver. Here is my timeline.

I-130;1485;I-765- submitted 01/27/2017

I-765 approved- 04/28/2017

Interview date: 06/01/2017(Local office in Chicago, IL)

I-130-approved on the spot after the interview on 06/01/2017

I-485 -further review needed, asked to submit 601 waiver to the lockbox-06/10/2017

I-601 waiver filed: 06/30/2017(pending review)

crazy! Yea, on the RFE we received for my father on 02/23/18 It stated that they needed the 1. Medicals (since they where expired) and 2. Waiver.

As for there EAD we had to send in renewal applications and they got approved on 02/25/18.. so we are good with that for now. I guess every office is different. in my opinion you will also get a RFE for medicals since after 2014 they now expire after one year. Lets pray for the best! And hopefully it goes fast. Please be sure to get on here every now and then to keep us updated. I will do the same!

@Dim Woo Hello! Like I said I would do, I am coming back to keep you updated on our case ! Remember I told you our lawyer sent in the I 601 waiver directly to the field office?  Well we just received our I 797C from our local office ! as a "USCIS EFRS TRANSACTION NOTICE" so my lawyer was correct in sending it there since the officer that interviewed us is the one that makes the decision. The downfall is that , it did not come with a tracking number for me to check the case... I am hoping we receive another one with it! Any news for you?

no news about my waiver yet. It's going to be a year next month. Your lawyer is super smart. In your RFE did it say the name of the interviewing officer to send the waiver to?

No it didn't, it stays the directors name of the field office. RFE that come in from the field office always do. According to our lawyer the same officer that interviewed us makes the decision for both the waiver and AOS. Of course, with her supervisors approval. What has me a bit upset is all we got last week was our i797c receipt acknowledging payment of the waiver (CAME DIRECTLY FROM THE FIELD OFFICE) but there is no case number for me to be able to track. it kinda sucks.... But hey, look at this article. Someone in the same boat as us (that also sent in waiver to office directly) got a approval 1 month after!! https://www.***removed***/experience/307424-Almighty-God-Has-Done-It-For-Me.html#div_314970

My lawyer is an idiot. He just took my money and did nothing. My RFE also came from the local office signed by the local uscis director, but it said: File 601. You can go to so and so site to find out where to file your 601.

Did you RFE give an exact address in the local USCIS office to file the waiver? I wish i knew of your lawyer one year ago.

Yes, the RFE asked for updated medicals plus I 601 waiver.. then at the end it said: "SUBMIT YOUR RESPONSE WITH REQUESTED DOCUMENT(S), INFORMATION, ETC. TO THIS ADDRESS: and then it has the local office where we interviewed at" and yes its also singed by the director of that field office. I found a group on FB about people filing the 601 waiver... and talked to this lady that also had her AOS interview and was told to file a waiver. she filed it 12/2017..and a month later 01/2018 it was approved. Then a week later her GC! I wouldn't believe it if I had not seen the pics of the receipts !

I think this varies from local office to office. Your local office prefers that you send it to them directly, since they already made you wait so many days before even giving you an interview. My local office was very prompt in interviewing(received interview in 4 months), but i guess they dont accept the 601 directly hence told me to file with the lockbox. I know another lady from NYC who's case is similar and she filed to the lockbox as well and is still waiting. All in all i think from filing to 485 it takes about 2 years if you have to file a waiver.

yea maybe ? My dads PD is 09/16/2016.. The office took forever to set up a AOS interview (01/29/18) . What ever the hold up is , I really hope we get a positive decision soon :/

@Dim Woo update! We just got a I 797c with a receipt number (finally!) from NBC. it does say on the letter that the fee was collected in the local field office. My lawyer said its standard procedure and that the decision would still come from the field office. Ill keep you posted on anything. Priority date is 05/21/18 . Any news for you?

@Dim Woo update! We just got a I 797c with a receipt number (finally!) from NBC. it does say on the letter that the fee was collected in the local field office. My lawyer said its standard procedure and that the decision would still come from the field office. Ill keep you posted on anything. Priority date is 05/21/18 . Any news for you?

No updates car0593. I am thinking this is going to take a long time.
