Bring parents to US for a visit while AOS is pending. Possible?

No idea when it became poor...the official refusal rate statistics stop at FY2006. But it's actually better now than it was in the past:

FY2017 refusal rate for tourist visas: 25.54%

FY2013 refusal rate: 24.1%

FY2010 refusal rate: 37.9%

FY2006 refusal rate: 37.7%

 

Visa mill? No...it's not by any means. Only 1 person among my wife's close friends and family got a tourist visa to the US to come for our wedding this year.

USEM is much more lenient, IMHO, with immigrant visas (and K-1s) than tourist visas.

1/2/18: EAD + AP approved (no website update), 1/5/18: EAD + AP mailed, 1/8/18: EAD + AP approval notice hardcopies received, 1/10/18: EAD + AP received

9/5/18: Interview scheduled notice, 10/17/18: Interview

10/24/18: Green card produced notice, 10/25/18: Formal approval, 10/31/18: Green card received

K-1:

7/13/2017: Interview: APPROVED!!!

7/19/2017: Visa in hand

8/15/2017: POE

Yes of course they can.   As long as they're eligible to get a tourist visa or use the Visa Waiver Program then they can visit.

Sure, they can visit if they have a valid tourist visa. Proof of your legal presence is not required, but if asked about it for whatever reason then they would just say that he/she came on a K-1 visa

Property by itself is probably not going to be enough for PH. But it's something so showing evidence of it, if requested, is better than nothing. I wish I had better news but that's just the reality.
