Hi,

I am US citizen and living in united state, North Carolina.

I have applied for green card for my husband, over year ago. We had our interview in Abu Dhubai on 31th of July 2017. everything was ok, and they gave us a "BLUE" sheet, and told him to wait till the security check is  ready.

My husband is going through his "Security Check", and he is IRANIAN.

I want to know, dose the new immigration law which i found on NVC website has any effect on our situation or not?

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/news/important-announcement.html

I really dont know what to do! because they dont know how long this security check will take! and also no one knows if they will give us a visa or not?  I just need an EXACT answer

We are living seperatly, for almost 2 years :((     I have to travel miles to see him :( it is very hard. I have job and responsibilities, I have school loans that I need to pay back. :( I can not leave US :(

Extreme vetting and security checks can take 1-4 years, the longest person I have seen on here has been 7 years in AP,

however the average time is about 18-24 months for your country. Our AP took 16 months and the country not being on the list.

There is unfortunately nothing you can do to speed the process up, either move there or wait here. Every 3 months or so inquire
about your status (if checks are completed) through your senator.

I totally understand your frustration. We have not even had our interview and now this new Travel Ban. It's beyond upsetting. My husband is more patient than me, I think, but we are both in agony of being apart and living with such uncertainty of our future.

XOXOXO

Since you do not already have a visa, I think I'm sorry to say they will not issue you a visa. All immigrant visas for Iranian nationals have been suspended (if my reading of that announcement is correct). You should call the NVC / embassy just to confirm.
