i-130 for spouse naturalization certificate

Hi I'm planning on marrying my gf in March 2018.  She's a foreign spouse.  I will then apply for I-130 for her to come here.  Originally I'm from Canada but moved to USA as a child and became a US citizen after that.  I have a question though in regard to the required documents for form I-130.  I've lost my naturalization certificate but have a US passport, valid until 2025.  Is it necessary for me to put my naturalization certificate number or will a us passport suffice?  The reason I'm asking is because there is contradictory information on the USCIS website/I-130 instruction form.  Here (https://www.uscis.gov/family/family-us-citizens/spouse/bringing-spouses-live-united-states-permanent-residents) it says:

 

If you are a U.S. citizen, you must demonstrate your status with:

• A copy of your valid U.S. passport OR
• A copy of your U.S. birth certificate OR
• A copy of Consular Report of Birth Abroad OR
• A copy of your naturalization certificate OR
• A copy of your certificate of citizenship

 

However on the instructions form for I-130 it says: 

 

3. What documents do you need to show that you are a U.S. citizen?

A. A copy of your birth certificate, issued by a civil registrar, vital statistics office, or other civil authority showing that you were born in the United States;

B. A copy of your naturalization certificate or certificate of citizenship issued by USCIS or the former Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS);

C. A copy of Form FS-240, Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA), issued by a U.S. Embassy or U.S. Consulate;

D. A copy of your unexpired U.S. passport; or

E. An original statement from a U.S. consular officer verifying that you are a U.S. citizen with a valid passport.

 

The word "OR" is removed and it makes it sound like you must show provide a copy of the naturalization certificate and number.  I know you can ask for a replacement of the certificate (though it takes a months to get it) and at a high cost and I want to have everything ready for March so that all we have to do is sign the marriage documents and then send them in.  Any thoughts about whether or not I need the document as well as any personal experiences of being in this situation of having a US passport but not the certificate and the filing form I-130, I'd love to hear what you did.

you only need one proof, your US passport is ok

Thank you so much for the response?  Were you in the same situation and know for certain or is this simply a guess?  On the form where it asks for the certificate number what should I write, something like "see passport".

You don't need to write the certificate number if you don't know it.

 

While the word OR isn't in there, it is still an OR type question.  You only need to provide 1 piece of proof of being a USC.
