my husband had his interview on 09/04/2017. the interview went fine, they kept his passport, marriage certificate and other necessary docs and told him that they will contact him after 10-15 days, but its been more then 16 working days and no one contacted us. when i check the status on CEAC website it just say "Ready"

Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. but it shows that case last update 09/18/2017. since the interview the case last updated had changed about 4 times now. but it doesn't show me any  update. we are very confused on what is going on with his case. if anyone knows anything about this kind of situation please share. Thank you.

It is updated every time it's touched. It just means that they are working on it and it's moving through the steps to finish processing.

Thank you for you reply. yeah i think the same as well that every time they open the case it shows me the last update date, but im just concerned how long will this process take? and why they are not giving any update online. its very frustrating.

Apin:  please read what Administrative Processing or AP is.

THese days all cases (approved or unapproved) go through the AP process which may take somewhere between 4 weeks to a year depending on the complexity arises with the background check.  This is pretty much mandatory and tests candidates level of patience.  There is no way you can either bypass or get an update or expedite this.

just read more on this AP topic.

Best of luck
