I am filling concurrently and stuck on completing the affidavit of support. Am i right in saying that if my spouse's income doesnt match or is greater than the amount of the poverty guidelines sheet for the both of us, we would need a joint sponsor?

Also, how do we obtain W2 forms from previous years?

Thank you

If your US spouse does not make the minimum amount or greater than the minimum amount to cover the household size, then you guys will need a co-sponsor.

ETA: The amount has to be able to cover the US spouse + other dependents (if any) + foreign spouse.

Here's the info on obtaining previous years' W2: https://www.irs.gov/faqs/irs-procedures/copies-transcripts/transcript-or-copy-of-form-w-2. If your spouse's taxes are up to date, the tax transcripts downloaded or ordered from IRS would be sufficient and there wouldn't be a need for the W2.

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.
