Hi All

I have another visa question.  I have a Vietnam visa expiring on November 3, 2017.  I applied for a new Vietnam visa application (1 -Year , Multilple Enttry)  with a proposed travel date starting from October 30, 2017.  Would my new Vietnam visa with start date of October 30, 2017 invalidate my current Vietnam visa with November 3, 2017 expiration?

When I enter Vietnam on October 15, 2016, will the Vietnamese immigration  check their system and only see the new Vietnam visa starting on October 30, 2017 as valid and deny entry into Viertnam?

Thanks in advance

You can apply for the 5 year visa and it allows you to stay 6 months at a time. It's only 50$

yes.  i heard about a visa for married folks.  my travel agent quoted me costing $100  valid for 5 years but need marriage certificate.

in regards to my question, I received a response from a great traval agent: It appears that Việtnam visas with overlapping validity dates don't void the other.

Dear Peter,

Regarding your question and to my understanding, the new visa doesn't effect the old one at all. Obviously you will use the old visa which validates until 3 November, 2017 to enter Vietnam.

I am sure you won't have any problem with the entry on 15 October. However, IMPORTANT:  if you wish to stay in Vietnam later than 3 November and then use the second visa, you will have to inform the immigration in Vietnam. In this case they may give you an option to stay OR leaving Vietnam over 24 hours to a week before coming back to Vietnam.

If you leave Vietnam before 3 November, you can come back any time in one year (til 29Oct,2018) with the second visa.

Hope the above information would help.

I dont think you need to be married to get the 5 year visa. My parents did it last winter and they are both USC. And im about to do it also. Its just a 5 year visa with multiple entries.

you might want to check with the issuer.  according to my Vietnamese  travel agent he say you can be either an  USC or not as long as married and can get one.

Sorry but maybe i should have stated that i am a child of a vietnamese that came during 1990 and are USC now. So that could be a reason why i can get mine. I dont know if you are, but if you are then it's definitely possible.  If you read towards the bottom it will explain a little more about the 5 year visa.
