Hi there,

I just want to confirm my understanding of the Priority Date that I see on State.gov.  I'm a US citizen and filed form I-130 to petition a green card for my brother and his wife.  I submitted the I-130 in 2008 and the email I received show their priority date as Aug 3rd, 2008.  Based on the Visa Bulletin posted on state.gov as of October 2017, it looks like the F4 category, to which my brother's visa belongs to, the priority date is 08MAY04.  Is my understanding correct that so far they've visa available for those who submitted the application prior to May 2004?  Assuming the trend is similar in how many visa US gives out, I've roughly about 4 years before my brother's application will be within the threshold to apply for a visa/green card?

Thanks

Sounds about right c2021.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
