Hello, i have an appoitnment for tourist visa on monday morning. Last friday i had a huge cut on my finger. Literally sliced the skin on my finger )above the nail). Today i freaked out whether it will affect my application or not. My pad is undamaged, i think for fingerprinting i can simply take off gauze and slap some tiny band aid. I can provide how my pads look like in a picture, cut is on my middle finger:

If your fingerprints are easly readable (and it seems they are) the cut should't be an issue good luck!

They won't allow you to wear a band aid if it covers the pads of your fingers when doing the biometrics...but from the photo posted, it looks fine.

Wound is just above my nail. I will put a bandaid that cover my nail and wound. But it it may also cover a part of the tip. But there will be nothing on pad. I put my finger pads on a glass surface and no wound is shown. However if they also want to scan tip then that will not be possible.

My advice is to wear the bandaid as needed right up until you are taking your fingerprints.  Reason being is the agent may see you approaching him/her with the bandaid on and off-the-bat refuse to do your fingerprints without actually looking at your hand first...

Alright, i will just hope they will not be disgusted by it. Because it is an open wound

Wearing the bandaid all day today (and maybe putting some Neosporin  on it) will help it heal..

 

I'm not saying you cannot wear the bandaid during your fingerprints since it wouldn't cover the pads of your fingers...I'm just suggesting you might not want to walk in there with the bandaid over your finger in any way....sometimes the agent you get can be very picky, especially since you say it may cover part of the tip of your finger.

Yeah I understand, thank you for mentioning this. I had wrapped it with a sterile gauze and dressing topical cream.Though it is going to take me weeks to heal because i actually lost tissue. I am just glad i did not slice any of my pads during incident.
