Heres the question. If you only have one trip you can make do you go as first planned and get your fiance when the visa is approved, or go soon because you miss each other? Its a tough decision because me and her both feel we both should be there to say the goodbye's to family but at the same time it takes so long to get the visa you just need each other. We both are trying to figure this out . We both like each option but only one can happen. Any thoughts will be very much appreciated I'm sure others have gone thru this delima. One additional question for flights. Any suggestions for cheaper flights to the philippines from U.S.?

One trip....that's a really tough call.....if it's me......I probably wait seeing as your interview should not be terribly far off based on your timeline. Easier said than done....I guess it just comes down to how important is it to you both to say goodbye to family and friends in that way.

I went to see Claudeth a few months before her interview and then she was here after the visa was issued. As far as tickets try searching around on the Internet like www.cheaptickets.com or expedia. You might also try this fellow, he got he a good deal last March: malick@newwavetravel.com

Good luck

Just my opinion....you have received your NOA2 , I would wait until the interview. I do not know how fast the consulate moves in the Phillipines but I would guess you are down to a couple of months. I wish I had my NOA2 :(

Good Luck

That is a hard one. Personally I can't stay away from there. In the last 2 years I have gone back 5 times and am planning my 6th trip in June. Good thing I have an understanding boss :) But if you can only go 1 more time it would prolly be best to go with her when the visa is done. International travel along with moving can be a real pain. Any help you give her there would be nice.

I'm in the same position you are. Trying to bank on my vacation time so I can go get my fiancee when her visa is approved and allow time for a wedding and honeymoon...but darn I miss her!!! As Gary said, leaving family and the international flight will be extremely stressful for her, especially if she has never gone far from home. My opinion: wait and go when her visa is granted and help her move.
