Travel when ROC Approved but GC not received

We have received ROC approval letter but have not received CG. We want to travel. 

 

- Should we go and ask for stamp on Passport? Will they give stamp?

 

Note: We went once to USCIS for stamp when ROC was not approved but the officer did not stamp saying that letter is valid for 1 year from the date of GC expire (that was nov 2016). So he was not ready to stamp untill nov 2017.

YOu should get. A stamp if you really have to travel. But if you can wait a few weeks you will have your GC

At this point, I don't think they'll give you a stamp, unfortunately, since you've been approved. I believe, though, that as long as your letter is still valid for the entire duration of your trip, you can still go ahead and travel on that. 

USCIS advises you not to - they want you to wait for the GC. But I've seen others on VJ who've travelled with their valid letter, while waiting for their approved green card to arrive.

Really, it seems like people get their cards pretty soon after they get the approval. Have you checked on the USCIS website to see if they've changed your status to "Card is in Production" or "Card has been Mailed to You"? If those appear you're likely to receive your card within a week or two.

Online status still shows case was received. Its approx 10 day it is approved but no status change on website. Do they ever send without updating the status on website?

Anything is possible with USCIS. Best thing would be creating a MyUSPS account and track incoming packages to your address. GCs are mailed from Corbin KY with two day priority mail.

In My USPS will it display Under Package (with tracing number) OR it will be displayed under Mail.
