If I go to cfo to apply do I need a passport and my visa?

To attend the class no passport or visa is required. Once you complete the course then you are free to return to get your certificate placed in your passport which will clear you to leave the Phil. Can't leave without the certificate placed in your passport with your visa.

Depends.  What type of visa are your pursuing?   This will depend on whether you need the passport with visa or not.

For K-1 fiance or CR/IR-1 spouse  you do not need to have your passport with visa to attend GCP.

For all other immigrant visas you will need your passport with visa before attending PDOS

Depends on the type of visa as to whether the passport w/visa is required.

In my case, the future wife (K1) can take the seminar without the visa.  Her two kids (K2) need PDOS but they are required to have the visa in place?

Is this correct?  Basically I am hoping to get their CFO and PDOS seminar's out of the way since I read it can take 4 months to get them scheduled.

PHILIPPINES ONLY!!!  CFO (Commission on Filipinos Overseas) INFO - Can't leave home without it!

PDOS (Pre-Departure Registration and Orientation Seminar) is for ages 20-59.  Peer Counseling is for 13-19 years of age.

It is required to have the visa in their passport for PDOS and Peer Counseling.

GCP (Guidance and Counseling Program) is for K-1 Fiancee and IR/CR-1 spouse ONLY.

Yes.. PDOS requires having the passport w/visa.

Don't know on the CFO scheduling for PDOS, no one has commented about that lately.  Only way to know is when you schedule and you can't schedule without the passport w/visa

I read here that there is a 3 to 4 month backlog for CFO openings.  I don't know if that is true or not but if it is it makes the this journey a year at the minimum.  5 months to NOA2, 30 to 45 days for NVC, another 50 (avg 81 from NOA2 to interview) days for the interview then another 4 months for the CFO.  Looks like white Christmas 2018!
