DS 160 question!

My fiance and I were planning to "share screen" in skype to complete the DS160... However it's alwAys blurry when we try. Can I fill it out and save it, and have her log in to electronically sign/print it? She is the beneficiary.

Also, our visa help site said something about choosing "immigrant visa" (even though it's a K-1 non-immigrant) because something on the DS 160 is listed backward? Does that ring a bell to anyone??

We're nervous about this because of course we hear "if its not done perfect we can get screwed" for the most part..

When you enter your number on ceac you enter it under immigrant visa, cause it is a non-immigrant visa but that gets a NVC case number.

When filling out the DS160 visa application that goes to the embassy you choose non-immigrant. Otherwise it will take you to the DS260 for immigrant visas.

You can fill it out for her, that's fine. However, she'll still need to go through the details that you input before she signs it electronically to ensure accuracy. There have been times where the US petitioner completes a DS-160 for the foreign beneficiary only to find out that there were incorrect information upon submission.

Instead of share screen, voice call and go by section and question while you type in the answers. After keying in all the answers, review everything once before she logs in to review and sign it herself. You can never be too careful. I'm a thorough person and go through all forms multiple times throughout this process before finalizing them. Even so, I still managed to miss one checkbox on the I-129F and selected the wrong day of birth for my own birthday on the I-134. Thank goodness for my paranoia that I rechecked again :jest:

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.
