IR-1 refused- need to prove domicile

Hi Seema, 

I had applied for my husband's GC while living in India. We got the visa within 5 months from the application date. This is what is did

1) Came to CA for a month. 

2) Rented a room from my uncle and got the letter for bank account and Driver's licence.

3) Got a job offer letter with start date and submitted that to US consulate in Delhi with all the other proofs. 

4) submitted a letter stating that as a women I will face hardship if I go without my husband.

I did file $0 tax for 4 years that I lived in India as I was working and paying taxes in India. You can still file your taxes. For us the best proof was the job letter.
