Hello, i'm from LA. and my boyfriend already proposed to me.. however he's in Montreal under working visa.

Is it possible for me to apply for the K1 visa for him? He's orignally from the Philippines but we've been together for more than 2yrs now..

You can petition a I-129F if you are a US citizen. As for which consulate he'd have to go through for the K-1 stage, it highly depends on where he'd be in the next 6-8 months so input the choice of consulate carefully. 

 

Just make sure you have met within last 2 years preceding the filing date. That's a major requirement for a I-129F/K-1.

yes, i just visited him last May and planning to see each other again this November.. is basically, i can request for a K1 visa even though he's under working visa only?
